Very disappointed to see Kate Gosslin talk about balancing family & career, it seems to me she is selfish and only thinks of making money instead of spending quality time with her children, especially since the father is not around anymore.

I'll be leaving before Kate Gosselin gets here. How is she even qualified to give advice??? Her marriage is destroyed, her kids look miserable, she has aired her families private lives for profit-what are we supposed to learn from her?!!!

I have to agree with aurora71, Kate Gosselin is deffinately not a very good representative of the majority of women who are 'juggleing'. The only thing one could possibly learn from her (Gosselin) is how to run scams, ask for handouts (freebies) and exploitation of her children. Personally I'd rather watch clothes dry.

I started listening to Dr. Laura about 14 years ago at the suggestion of my Clergy. She made me see how I needed to change my life and focus on doing the right moral thing. I made my kids a priority even though I was divorced. The most important lesson I learned was that kids do not ask for divorces--we adults are the ones that put them through it, because most of the time we are thinking of ourselves. We need to think of them first. She is right on on taking care of our children. The world would certainly be a different place if we took care of our children and not let other people raise them. Right on Dr. Laura!!!!!
I ran the 5k last year and was going to skip out this year until I heard that Dr. Laura would be participating. "Eat less, move more" works, and I am excited to see her live!! She is motivating to all women, and gets you fired up in all sorts of ways.
I would be interested in watching a debate between her and Kate. Those poor 8 kids.

Aurora 71, perhaps they have to charge this year because Kate Gosselin is EXPENSIVE. She commands $30,000 for an event as well as first-class travel and accommodations just to speak on how she abandons and abuses her children, caused her divorce by treating her husband worse than a dog, having an affair with her bodyguard, Steve, traveling to more than 50 speaking engagements this year WITH STEVE, while leaving her children in the care of her husband or a series of NON nannies, etc.
The poor woman must be exhausted. This year the sextuplet's birthday fell on Mother's Day. Kate took that day for herself. She visited the health spa and then had the kids' birthdays a WEEK LATER.
I hope that you will all give generously when the "love donation" hat is passed. Being a greedy, evil, self-absorbed woman is expensive!

Did anyone see her speak? How was she? Did she speak about Jon at all? I find it ridiculous that they chose her to talk about balance when her own marriage fell apart and she doesn't even spend that much time with her kids with all these speaking engagements. I wonder if the kids were with her? What did she even speak about? She's the worst portrayal of balance.
I am so dissappointed that you would include Kate Gosselin in your scheduled celebrity appearance. How is she qualified to talk about how she balances her career, her life as a TV reality show star, her children, and how she’s handling her much-publicized divorce? If she is going to talk about how to make a living off of exploiting her children, I could understand. Or talk about how to manage hired help who are raising her children and taking care of her household duties. Or talk about how to NOT treat your husband. Or talk about how to become rich and famous by having more babies than the body was designed to produce at once. Very POOR choice in a speaker. You are endorsing behavior in a woman that is unappealing and damaging to her children. Shame on you.
There were several of us who had planned on attending this past weekend's events as a group. When we heard that Kate Gosselin would be speaking, we voiced our opinion stating we could not attend if she was invited to be a part of the event. We had hopes that maybe the organizers would come to their senses and remove her from the line up. When that did not happen, we had a tough decision to make, and that decision was not to attend. We could not, in good conscience, support Kate Gosselin in any way. We feel very strongly that her poor children are being terribly exploited, "sold" for products (Coleman items, trips, new cabinets, play houses, and so much more). No one in those poor children's lives seem to care enough to do anything about it. TLC does not seem to have a moral backbone and won't cancel the show. We had to take a stand. We truly lost so much respect for Balance Austin AND all of their sponsors.

Sorry you are having someone
Sorry you are having someone that is not a good example of a mother who's first priority is her children. Will not be attending!

Kate Gosselin is not a role model for women
