Chef Tiffany Collins - Introduction

Chef Tiffany Collins, culinary director for the Texas Beef Council (TBC), is as skilled at communicating cuisine as she is at preparing it.  She has redefined the chef’s traditional role by taking culinary messages and information directly to consumers at events as varied as giant home shows to television appearances to educational presentations before select audiences.

“Consumers want nutrition, convenience and innovation when it comes to recipes,” Chef Collins says.  “My goal as culinary director of the Texas Beef Council is to make sure I provide beef ideas that meet all three needs.”

Tiffany Taylor - Introduction

Tiffany Taylor moved to Austin in 1997 to begin school at UT. She started Tiff’s Treats, the nations’ first warm cookie delivery service, as a sophomore in college with her partner Leon Chen in January of 1999. Initially, Tiff’s Treats was run only in the evenings. Upon graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Advertising, Tiffany, along with her partner Leon, expanded Tiff’s Treats to full time hours in May of 2001. Tiff’s Treats has since expanded to include 2 stores in Austin and a location in Dallas with plans for more Austin and Dallas locations to come.

Lindsay Field - Introduction

Lindsay Field is a local glass jewelry artist here in Austin, with a company called Lindsay Designs.  Lindsay grew up partly in Albuquerque, NM and then spent the majority of her adolescence in the Dallas area, graduating from Newman Smith H.S. in 1999.  Lindsay then moved to Austin and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003 with a B.S. in Advertising.  Lindsay currently resides in Austin with her boyfriend of seven years and their dog, Skylos. 

Sharon Sneed - Introduction

Sharon Sneed is an actual native Austinite.  She grew up in northeast Austin as Sharon Meadows, and graduated from Reagan High School in 1971.  She then attended Texas A&M University, meeting her future husband and graduated with a B.S. in Zoology in 1974.  She and her new husband moved to the DFW area where she attended graduate school at Texas Women's University, graduating in 1979 with a M.S. and Ph.D. in human nutrition and biochemistry.  She and David moved to the San Francisco area where she was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley.

Monica F. Alas is the Texas Regional Community Manager for lululemon athletica, a yoga-inspired athletic apparel company. Over the past year, she has collaborated with the 7 stores located in Texas to plan community events, in-store yoga and fitness classes and programs that touch, move and inspire guests to elevate their lives and the world. Her previous marketing and advertising experience was gained working in Corporate Marketing for AT&T for seven years after completing her B.S. in Advertising at the University of Texas at Austin. Monica enjoys finding peace and balance through running, biking, yoga and spending time with her husband and their miniature dachshund. The first addition to the Alas family is expected to arrive in early January.
